The Imperfect Perfect Portrait

This imperfect picture is perfect in so many ways. Daily life goes by so fast that everything can seem like a blur. I have on many occasions sat and watch my kids, all 4 of them, in amazement as to how fast they have grown up.

Imperfect Perfect Portrait of Kids at the Park

I remember…

my wife attending 5th grade camp with our oldest like it was yesterday. Dest caring for her two hamsters, yet she just started her second semester at University.

my “twin” being born, I swear he’s been speaking full sentences since he was born! Yet he’s now four, loves to tell stories and memorizes pretty much any song he listens to.

the twins being babies sleeping in their bouncy chairs, yet they are two and filled with so much personality.

Enjoy the everyday adventures with those you love. Make it count.

I know you will enjoy these portraits as much as I enjoyed making them. Contact me if you or someone you know would also love some family portraits!

Teen Fashion in Black and White

Back in August I did a Back to School shoot in Sacramento in which I took the opportunity to use some Ilford HP5 black and white film. I have been hesitant in the past to use b&w film because you are completely locked in. Whereas if I made photos in color, I could always convert them to b&w. The only thing that I will say is that there is a certain look that b&w films have that isn’t 100% achievable by color film and I love the look for these teen fashion photos.

I am inspired to use more b&w film, there is a certain feeling of timeless to true black and white. Please enjoy these and I hope to have more in the coming months to share with you!
