Back to School

Doing back to school shoots are always a fun and a wonderful idea. Our kids grow up so fast, that it’s important that we capture them at every stage of their lives. One day they will be 5 and the next day they will be 20.

Trust me I know, being a father of 4 wonderful and loving kids is the greatest thing that has happened in my life. We have a pretty large spread of age ranges, from our oldest daughter whom just started college, our son will start pre-school this spring and the twins who are going to be two.

Enjoy your kids, cherish them, enjoy the good days with the bad ones. Are your kids back in school? How’s it going so far?

I know you will enjoy these portraits as much as I enjoyed making them. Contact me if you or someone you know would also love some portraits!

Vintage Styled Shoot at Sacramento Metro Airport

I’ve been a member of Meetup.com for a very long time and a member of certain photography groups for just as long, but with a family, a fulltime job and my photography business, it has always been one excuse or another why I couldn’t physically make it to a meet up. A month back I decided to finally clear some time and make it to the scheduled Vintage Styled Shoot and I am SUPER glad that I did.

I had a great time socializing with other fellow photographers, I got to meet 7 wonderful models, and I got to play around and use this as my personal time to shoot more film! Needless to say, this sparked my creativity bug and has inspired me to no only attend more meetups, but to also create my own styled shoots.

You might note that these photographs have a very different look than most of my work, lately I’ve been transitioning to using more film. All the photos in this set were taken using my Nikon F100 with either Kodak Portra 400 or Kodak Portra 160. To me there is just something special about the look of film that is nearly impossible to replicate on digital SLRs.

I know you will enjoy these portraits as much as I enjoyed making them. Contact me if you or someone you know would also love some portraits!
